Le Tunnel/Das Couloir

Parcours d’Hiver (mixed media; CIAP 2016): During a three-month residency on an island in a water reservoir in Vassivière, in the Limousin/France I developed this project. The starting point was the different tree varieties I could find on the small island. I carved grips on woods sticks I collected during walks in and around Vassivière. For a final presentation I presented wood chips in porcelain bowls that also would host each walking stick. I also wrapped the fancy residency studio chairs in toilet paper as they were otherwise too cold to sit on. I made a blog and a facebook page so others could follow my walks and excursions online. During my stay, I left a wide selection of carved woodsticks outside the residency building so the visitors to the island could pick them up and use them for their own walks
